Mold Removal of Chattanooga

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are — a referral service, not a contractor

Mold Removal of Chattanooga ("we," "us," this website) is a free referral service. We connect homeowners in the Chattanooga metro with an independent local mold remediation contractor. We are not a contractor, we do not perform inspections or remediation work, and we are not a party to any agreement you enter with a contractor. Any work performed at your property is performed by an independent business under its own name, insurance, pricing, and workmanship responsibility.

2. Licensing in Tennessee — the plain facts

Tennessee does not issue a license for typical residential mold remediation work. Under Tennessee's contractor licensing law, a contractor's license (the Board for Licensing Contractors' "Specialty/Environmental" S-Mold classification) is required only when a mold remediation project's total labor and materials exceed $25,000. Tennessee also does not license mold inspectors or assessors. Because typical residential mold jobs fall below the $25,000 threshold, most legitimate mold contractors in this market are not — and are not required to be — state-licensed for this work. For that reason, this site makes no "licensed" claims about any contractor. Contractors we refer are insured.

3. How to verify any mold contractor (including ours)

  • Insurance: ask for a certificate of general liability insurance sent to you directly from the contractor's insurer — not a photocopy. This is the single most meaningful check in an unlicensed trade.
  • Large projects: if your project will exceed $25,000, verify the contractor holds a Tennessee contractor's license with the mold (S-Mold/Environmental) classification through the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance's license verification tool.
  • Certifications: industry certifications exist for mold work (for example, IICRC and ACAC credentials). They are voluntary in Tennessee. We do not claim them on any contractor's behalf — ask the contractor what they hold and verify with the certifying body if it matters to your decision.
  • Scope honesty: a trustworthy quote itemizes area treated, materials removed, containment, and the moisture correction. Quotes justified by fear language rather than scope are the industry's main consumer risk.

4. Not health or medical advice

Content on this site is general information about mold and moisture in homes. It is not health or medical advice. Mold exposure can trigger allergic reactions and aggravate asthma symptoms, and individual sensitivity varies; if you have health concerns related to your home environment, consult a qualified medical professional. Nothing on this site diagnoses any condition or substitutes for professional medical judgment.

5. Consent to contact

By calling us or submitting a form, you request a referral and consent to be contacted by us and by the one independent contractor we connect you with, by phone, text, or email, regarding your request. This consent is a condition of using the referral service, not of any purchase. You may withdraw it at any time by telling us or the contractor to stop.

6. No warranty; independent contractors

We work to refer capable, insured local contractors, but we do not supervise their work and make no warranty — express or implied — regarding any contractor's services, pricing, timeline, or results. Your agreement for any inspection or remediation work is solely between you and the contractor. Estimates, price ranges, and cost figures on this site are general market information, not quotes or guarantees.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of this website or the referral service is limited to one hundred dollars ($100). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of any independent contractor.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site or the referral service to submit false requests, harvest information, interfere with the site's operation, or misrepresent your identity. We may decline or withdraw referral service at our discretion.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is always posted here with its date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
